How to reduce bandwidth usage?

For better conversion rates and user experience, it’s ideal to offer the best possible quality (we support up to 4K, if enabled in your account). The maximum default resolution for videos hosted on Panda is 1080p. The player will always try to deliver the best quality available to the user based on their bandwidth (connection speed). This ensures clear, high-quality viewing, offering an even more satisfying experience for viewers.

Here are some ways to save bandwidth. The main one, of course, is to temporarily disable 1080p delivery via the dashboard (this can be done in Account Settings). This practice is common among large infopreneurs who disable 1080p during launches when consumption peaks after selling a course. Later, as consumption naturally decreases, 1080p can be re-enabled.

Depending on your audience, the difference between 1080p and 720p may be negligible. In such cases, we recommend testing and checking for user feedback. In practice, users are often satisfied with 720p quality, making it a cost-effective option for video streaming without compromising the user experience.

Another option is to disable autoplay and video preloading. This means the video will only load when the user clicks "play," saving bandwidth. However, this approach may reduce conversions, especially for sales pages where autoplay is strategically important to engage the audience right away.

If your business focuses on video, delivering an excellent sound and image experience is crucial. In this context, we do not recommend reducing video quality to save bandwidth. The additional bandwidth cost is highly competitive, and we suggest maintaining the highest possible quality to ensure your videos stand out and provide an exceptional viewer experience.

Additionally, we offer our performance code, which makes the player load significantly faster. For more information, check out this article, which simplifies the topic.
