How the Preload Feature for Embedded Videos Works and How to Enable or Disable It

In Panda Video, the preload feature is enabled by default for embedded videos.

It allows the TS (Transport Stream) files, which are the fragments that make up the video, to be loaded before the video is played.

This offers a smoother user experience because, when they hit play, the video is already prepared to play without interruptions.

However, in some cases, it may be desirable to disable preload, which prevents the early loading of TS files.

Important: Disabling preload may cause the video to take longer to start, resulting in a less smooth viewing experience. This is not recommended on sales pages, where fast loading is crucial to keep users attention.

How to disable preload

  1. Access the Dashboard: Go to the video list and find the video in question.
  2. Click on ‘Embed’: At the top of the screen, next to "Performance" and the link icon button, click on ‘Embed’.
  3. Disable Preload: In the modal that opens, below the embed code, you will find the "Load before starting (Preload)" switch. Turn off this option.

Attention: This preload feature will only be available for videos on platforms that do not use HLS.

Once this is done, you can use the new embed code with preload disabled.

If you wish to re-enable it, simply turn the switch back on and update the code on your platform.
