How does the video storage space work?
Video Storage
Storage is the space used to host all your videos on Panda Video. Every time you upload a video, the system generates multiple versions in different qualities to ensure the best playback experience, automatically adjusting to the viewer’s internet speed.
ℹ️ Our plans are based on storage and bandwidth usage.

How Quality Conversion Works
When you upload a 1080p video, for example, the system can generate versions in:
- 240p
- 360p
- 480p
- 720p
- 1080p
By default, all accounts support up to 1080p, but you can enable 4K video generation if your original file has that resolution.
Viewer playback in each resolution contributes to your bandwidth plan usage.
Quality Adjusted Based on Connection:
- Slow connections: 240p or 360p
- Mobile networks: 480p
- Broadband: 720p or 1080p
The Panda Video player automatically adjusts to the available bandwidth, ensuring a smooth viewing experience even on unstable connections.
What’s Included in Storage
🎞️ Multiple Qualities
The HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) protocol used by Panda ensures efficient playback with low latency, requiring multiple versions to enable:
- Adaptive streaming
- Instant start (autoplay) for sales pages
- Smooth playback on mobile networks

🖼️ Images (Thumbnails & Progress Bars)
In addition to video files, Panda also stores:
- Thumbnails (cover images)
- Pause thumbnails
- Progress bars (fake progress)
These elements improve user interaction and are part of the visual experience.
Transparent Storage Usage
Panda Video values clear resource usage, letting you see exactly how much storage each video uses. This ensures:
- Predictable costs
- Better upload control
- Optimization of your current plan
Advanced Storage Management Features
📦 Automatic Storage Management
You can set up your plan so that more storage is automatically added to your account once a defined limit is reached!
Practical example:
In this example, when the USAGE exceeds 1024GB, an additional 512GB will be automatically purchased. This way, you don’t need to worry about the plan’s limit and can keep using it without having to add more manually!
So, in this situation, if I were on the Gold plan (which by default includes 1024GB of storage) and exceeded 1024GB of usage, an additional 512GB would be automatically recharged, making my plan total 1.5TB!
To enable this feature, just follow these steps:
- Go to the Settings menu
- Navigate to the Plan tab
- Click on Change Plan
- Finally, select the option Customize your Plan
🔔 Alerts & Reports
The system will notify you whenever automatic expansion occurs and provide access to detailed usage reports, giving you full control.
