How does Smart Autoplay work?

Smart Autoplay is a feature designed to enhance the viewing experience and increase video retention rates. It offers a smarter approach to traditional autoplay, adapting to browser restrictions and user interaction with the page.

What's the difference between Smart Autoplay and standard Autoplay?

▶️ Standard Autoplay

• The video starts automatically muted when the page loads.
• This happens due to browser restrictions that block videos with sound from playing without prior user interaction.

🤖 Smart Autoplay

• Goes further: it tries to detect when it's possible to start the video with sound enabled.
• If there’s prior interaction with the page (such as scrolling, clicking, or tapping), the player enables audio automatically.
• If not, the video starts muted with a customizable mute indicator, encouraging the user to activate the sound manually.

How to configure Smart Autoplay?

Follow these steps in your dashboard:

1. Go to the Videos tab.
2. Double-click the desired video.
3. In the side menu, click Player and navigate to the Advanced section.
4. Select the Smart Autoplay option.
5. Enable the following:

• Autoplay
• Customize Mute Indicator (optional, but recommended)

Additional settings

In the Smart Autoplay section, you can also:

• Customize the mute indicator (text, color, position, animation).
• Enable the option:

"Detect interaction on the page to start with audio"

💡 Tip: This detection allows the video to start with sound when the visitor has already interacted with the page, boosting engagement.
