How does Smart Autoplay work?

Smart Autoplay is a feature designed to enhance the viewing experience and increase video retention rates. It offers a smarter approach to traditional autoplay, adapting to browser restrictions and user interaction with the page.

Smart Autoplay

The video starts automatically without sound when the page loads, allowing immediate viewing of the content, with an on-screen notice informing “Click here to enable sound.” This happens due to browser restrictions that block audio playback without prior user interaction.

If the user does not interact with the video to enable sound, the plays will not be counted in the analytics area, since technically the content was not effectively watched.

Detect interaction to start audio

Whenever the user performs any interaction on the page, whether by clicking or moving the mouse, the video automatically starts with sound, and plays and impressions begin to be counted directly in analytics. This feature may not work on some browsers.

This is an excellent option for those who use VSL and want to track the page’s performance metrics directly in our analytics area.
