After uploading a video to Panda Video, it is automatically converted into multiple quality levels to adapt to each user’s connection.

What affects bandwidth consumption:

The video quality displayed (higher quality = higher consumption).
The watch time (users who watch partially consume less).
The device used (mobile devices usually display lower resolutions).
Video downloads from the Dashboard, which also consume bandwidth.

| In other words, if a video is 1GB in size, it does not necessarily consume 1GB of bandwidth.

What is the Domain Warning and How to Fix It?

How to fix the error: “Viewing not allowed on this domain or subdomain”

If you received the warning “Viewing not allowed on this domain or subdomain”, it means that the domain where the video is embedded is not authorized in your Panda Video account.

This blocking mechanism is designed to protect your content from being displayed outside the domains you have approved.

Why does this happen?

When you activate the domain protection feature, only websites listed in your account are authorized to display your videos. If the domain where the video is embedded is not on the allowed list, playback will be automatically blocked.

|| 💡 Common mistake: adding only the root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and forgetting the subdomain (members.yourdomain.com), or only allowing the non-www version.

How to fix this error?

Log into your Panda Video account and click on Security in the sidebar.
Select the Allowed Domains tab.
Click “Add Domain”.
Add all domains and subdomains where your videos will be embedded.

Configuration examples:

If your members area is at members.yourdomain.com, add exactly that address.
To allow all subdomains of a main domain, add:
*.yourdomain.com
If your site is on the root domain, just add yourdomain.com (without asterisk).

Storage is the space used to host all your videos on Panda Video. Every time you upload a video, the system generates multiple versions in different qualities to ensure the best playback experience, automatically adjusting to the viewer’s internet speed.

How Quality Conversion Works

When you upload a 1080p video, for example, the system can generate versions in:

240p
360p
480p
720p
1080p

|| ⚠️ No upscaling is performed. So, if you upload a 720p video, that will be the maximum quality generated.

By default, all accounts support up to 1080p, but you can enable 4K video generation if your original file has that resolution.

Viewer playback in each resolution contributes to your bandwidth plan usage.

How to Start Your Live Stream Securely

Video hangs while running?

The HLS protocol is the protocol used by Panda to deliver video content. It is the same used by any video streaming services such as Apple TV, Netflix and others. This protocol aims to reduce latency issues and deliver the best possible quality, even on unreliable networks such as cellular networks in transit (where the user switches from one antenna to another from the cellular operator).

HLS, as explained in traffic article, delivers different qualities depending on the available speed of the user. So it's normal for the player to start playing the video with a lower quality and then adjust/improve it as the video runs. This helps to have faster video playback, but reduces the initial quality. This particularity found in all streaming services is seen as something positive, as it helps a user with a bad connection to not have a long time when the video is stopped (loading).

As it is only possible to know the bandwidth availability while the video is playing, it is possible that a user with high connection availability at some point has the network congested by a system update download or another device on the same network using the available bandwidth. It is also possible temporary connection problems while connecting the video. Usually, video playback problems are related to the bandwidth available on the end client.
