How does the A/B Test feature work?


The Panda Video A/B Test feature allows you to compare the performance of different versions of the same video by displaying them randomly to your visitors using a single embed code.


This feature helps you understand which version generates more engagement and conversions, making the video optimization process more accurate and effective.



What exactly is an A/B Test?


An A/B Test lets you test the impact of different video elements, such as:


  • Modified script or copy
  • Changes to the CTA button or its timing
  • Editing or title variations


At the end of the test, you can declare a winning video, which will then be shown permanently to your visitors.

How to set up and use the A/B Test?


1. Go to the A/B Test tab


In your dashboard, click the icon with a circle and triangle labeled “A/B Test”.




2. Create a new test


Click “Add test”. You can also search and view ongoing or completed tests using the search icon.




3. Add videos to your test


Click “Add Video” or the “+” button in the upper-right corner of the screen.


You can:


  • Add existing videos
  • Create a copy of a video with reset metrics (ideal for a fair test)


âť— You must add at least two videos to start the test.




4. Track the results


After launching the test, you’ll see the performance of each video on the test page:


  • Play rate: how many times the video was started
  • Retention: the percentage of the video watched


Each video will have a distinct color on the charts to make it easier to read.


To display the test on your page, click “Embed” in the upper-right corner and copy the code. A random video will be shown to each visitor.




5. Declare a winner


Once you’ve determined which video performs best, click “Declare winner” on the winning video’s row.


This will end the test, and the winning video will be shown to 100% of your audience.
