Shorts: Viral clips with AI

What is Panda Video Shorts?

Shorts is a Panda Video feature that uses artificial intelligence to create viral short videos from long-form content. You upload a video, set your preferences, and the AI generates a list of clips for you to review and select.

Summary:

Step-by-step: How to use Panda Video Shorts

1. Content input

You can start generating Shorts in 3 different ways:

  • Pasting a YouTube link
  • Uploading a video from your computer
  • Selecting a video from your Panda Video library (available in all plans, except in the Clipador plan)

To generate a Short from YouTube, the video must be set to Public or Unlisted. Private videos cannot be used.

You can upload videos between 5 minutes and 05 hours long, but Shorts will be generated from segments of up to 3 hours per project.

2. Shorts settings

As soon as the video is loaded, you’ll land on the Shorts editing screen to configure how the final clips should look.

Segment selection

First, you can select the segment the AI should analyze. This helps eliminate irrelevant parts and save on credits.

AI instructions

Here, you can define:

  • Short aspect ratio: Vertical (9:16), Horizontal (16:9), or Square (1:1)
  • Average duration: to guide the AI on how long each generated video should be (for shorter or longer Shorts)
  • Layout: the editing style the clip should follow

Additionally, you can optionally provide video context to help the AI better understand your content and generate more relevant clips.

  • Caption style (visual appearance of the captions)

Appearance

In the Appearance section, you can:

  • Choose the Caption Style, which customizes how the captions are displayed in the video
  • Set the Font
  • Choose the text and highlight color

3. Shorts generation and selection

Once the AI finishes processing, you’ll see a list of Shorts generated for you to review and either save to your library or download.

Each clip is scored to indicate its potential to go viral.

Previews are shown in 360p to load faster, but the export can be up to 1080p, depending on the original video quality.

Each project can generate up to 15 Shorts. In some cases, you may get fewer, especially if the original video is short or you’ve chosen a longer average duration for the Shorts.

How many credits do I need to generate clips?

Panda Video Shorts consumes 1 credit for every 10 minutes. For example, a 1-hour video (60 minutes) will use 6 credits.

Can I subscribe to Shorts separately?

Yes, you can subscribe to the Clipador plan for US$ 2.90 to access AI-powered clip generation. Learn more about the plan here.
