DRM Watermark: What it is and how it works

What is DRM (Watermark) and how does it work?

Panda Video's DRM Watermark is an advanced video protection solution that uses dynamic watermarking to prevent copying, screen recording, and unauthorized sharing. With it, you have control over the security of the content shown to your students or users.

You can choose between security levels, customize the appearance of the watermark, and set up individual keys to identify each access.

🔗 Integrated Platforms

Panda Video offers easy integration with several platforms. Click to access the tutorials:

🔐 Security Levels

Regular Level (no extra cost)

Ideal for those who want basic security with a visible watermark and encryption in the player.

  • Visible watermark in the player
  • Encryption against manipulations
  • No additional cost

Advanced Level (US$ 0.60 per GB of bandwidth)

Maximum protection with a permanent watermark embedded in the video, even after download.

  • Permanent and irremovable watermark
  • Requires re-encoding for each playback
  • Ideal for sensitive or premium content
  • Additional cost per GB of bandwidth consumed

💡 The higher the watermark frequency, the greater the security — but also the greater the bandwidth consumption.

🎥 Watermark Appearance

You can set:

  • Size: Small, Medium, or Large

  • Text color
  • Background color
  • Transparency (opacity between 0% and 100%)

Types of movement

  • Subtle: appears at the edges, ideal for discreet marks
  • Dynamic: moves across the entire screen, stopping at the center. More secure against piracy

🛡️ Security Keys

With Security Keys, you define what will be displayed in the watermark:

  • Private Key: unique user identifier
  • Line 1, 2, and 3: name, email, tax ID, or anything else you want

This information appears over the video during playback.

Platforms like Cademí, Memberkit, The Members, XGrow, and Ticto do not require manual key entry — it is generated automatically.

CSV Import

You can import multiple keys at once using a .csv file containing:

  • Private Key
  • Line 1
  • Line 2
  • Line 3

At least the Private Key and one of the lines are required.
