Configuring Video Quality

Configuring Video Quality

Configuring video quality is essential to optimize your plan’s storage and ensure a smooth viewing experience for your audience.

In this article, you'll learn how to manage which resolutions (like 360p, 480p, 720p, etc.) will be available in your Panda Video account.

Why configure video quality?

Each generated resolution consumes storage space. If a video is converted into multiple qualities, each version will take up additional space.

Only enabling the qualities that are truly necessary helps you save storage and keep your account organized.

How to configure video quality

  1. Access your Dashboard
  2. Click the gear icon (⚙️) at the bottom left corner
  3. Go to the “Qualities” option

You'll see all the resolutions currently enabled for new uploads.

Best practices for configuration

  • Disable resolutions that don’t make sense for your audience
  • Keep at least two qualities enabled

This ensures users with slower internet can watch without buffering

Usage example

If your video is targeted at mobile devices, prioritize resolutions like 360p and 480p.

If your focus is on high visual quality for larger screens, consider enabling 720p and 1080p, and disabling lower resolutions if not needed.

The goal is to balance visual quality with storage efficiency.
