What is the two-factor authentication (2FA) and how to activate it in your Panda account

๐Ÿ” Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

What it is:

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security method that requires the combination of two different elements to access your Panda account, such as your password and an additional token.

How it works:

When logging into your Panda account, in addition to using your registered password, a code will also be sent to a device you own, such as a smartphone. This prevents access even if your password is compromised.

Since Panda stores all your content, itโ€™s very important to protect your account against malicious access as much as possible. In this article, weโ€™ll explain how you can enable this protection both for your login and for your team members' access!

How to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your account

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click on your account name in the upper left corner.
  3. Go to the "View Profile" option.
  4. Navigate to "Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)" and follow the steps displayed.

How to require 2FA for the entire team

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. In the left sidebar menu, click Settings.
  3. Go to the Users tab.
  4. Enable the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option.

โš ๏ธ IMPORTANT: After enabling this setting, team members will only be able to access the account if they activate 2FA on their logins.

Available authentication methods

๐Ÿ”ธ SMS Verification

  1. Register your mobile phone number.
  2. When logging in, a temporary code will be sent via text message.
  3. Enter the code to complete the login.

๐Ÿ”ธ Authenticator App Verification

Apps such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy generate codes that change every 30 seconds:

  1. Scan the QR Code with the app.
  2. The app will automatically generate the codes.
  3. When logging in, enter the code shown in the app.

๐Ÿ” How to reset a user's 2FA

If a team member loses access to their phone or authenticator app:

  1. The account administrator must go to the Users tab.
  2. Locate the desired member.
  3. Click the three dots next to the user's email.
  4. Select "Reset 2FA".

๐Ÿ” What if I lose access to my 2FA?

  • Ask the account administrator to reset your settings.
  • If you are the only administrator, contact our support chat for assistance.
