# VSL size does not affect page load time.

# Does the VSL size affect the page loading time?

No! When you embed a Panda Video on your page, the **original file size or resolution does not directly impact the page’s loading time**.

That’s because when the page loads, the video **is not fully loaded right away**. Panda’s player uses **adaptive streaming** technology, which loads the video **progressively** as it's watched, ensuring a fast and smooth experience.

---

## How is the video delivered?

When you upload your video to Panda, the system automatically:

* Converts it into multiple resolutions (like 360p, 480p, 720p, and 1080p) to adapt to the viewer's internet speed;
* Stores these optimized versions to ensure fast playback;
* Uses **adaptive streaming** to load only what’s needed at the right time.

This ensures your page loads quickly and the video plays **without delay**, even if the original file is high-quality or large.

---

## Practical example

If you upload a video in 720p, Panda will automatically create 360p and 480p versions as well. This:

* **Optimizes video delivery** for users with slower connections;
* **Keeps the 720p version** as the highest available (no upscale to higher resolutions);
* **Helps save bandwidth usage**, since the player delivers the ideal resolution based on the user's connection speed.

## What about video quality after compression?

When generating multiple resolutions, the video goes through a compression process — which is normal. This **may cause a slight visual quality loss**, especially for slower connections where the player delivers lower resolutions.

But don’t worry: this compression is essential to ensure the video **loads efficiently** and with **minimal impact on the user experience**.

## Conclusion

The original file size or resolution **does not affect the page loading time**. Thanks to Panda Video's technology, your videos are delivered with speed and quality, regardless of the uploaded file’s characteristics.
