Panda Record: How to record your screen using the extension?
Screen Recording: record videos directly in Panda Video (Dashboard and Extension)
Screen Recording allows you to record your screen, camera, and audio directly in Panda Video, without needing third-party tools such as Loom or OBS. It is the shortest path between "I have an idea" and "video published": record, review, and leave with the video ready to share.
The feature has two entry points that lead to the same recording experience and the same review screen: the Extension (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox) and the Panda Video Dashboard (the /record route). Choose whichever option is more convenient for your workflow.
What is Panda's Screen Recording?
It is a native recorder built into your Panda Video account that captures your screen, camera, and microphone (together or separately) and delivers the result ready to watch, share, or download — with no extra step of importing a recording from another app.
How to record using the Extension (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox)
The extension is available on the Chrome Web Store and works as a floating interface that appears over any website, allowing you to record from wherever you are.
- Install the Panda Records extension from the Chrome Web Store (compatible with Chrome, Edge, and Firefox).
Extension link: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/panda-record/ppjmikaalakkbkapmbeecjdfhfiemchj?hl=pt-BR&utm_source=ext_sidebar
- Click the extension icon and sign in. Authentication opens in a new tab, with confirmation of the linked account and 2FA when this feature is enabled for your account.

- Choose the sources you want to record (screen, camera, microphone, and/or page audio) and the display layout.

- Adjust the Settings, if needed (see the Where to save your recording section below).

- Start recording after the countdown.
- When you finish, you will be taken directly to the review screen.
How to record from the Dashboard
You can also record directly from the Dashboard without installing the extension.
- Access your video library in the Dashboard.
- Click the Import videos button and select Record screen.

- You will be taken to the
/recordroute, with the same recording experience: preview, settings, countdown, recording, and review. - Choose your sources (screen, camera, microphone, and page audio), select the layout, adjust the Settings, and start recording.
Where to save your recording: Case A or Case B
Before or after recording, you can choose in Settings where the recording will be saved. This option is available both in the extension and in the Dashboard.
- Case A — Save to Panda Video: the recording is uploaded to your Panda account, with sharing and comments enabled, just like any other video in your library.
- Case B — Save locally only: the recording remains stored locally, without a sharing link or comments. You can download the file and, if you change your mind later, click Save to Panda Video to upload it to your account.
Sharing and receiving comments on your recording
When you record using Case A, the recording works like any other Panda Video video: it generates a sharing link and allows other people to leave comments directly on the video's timeline, using the same review system available for other videos in your account.
