How to Activate Secure Offline Video

Panda Video offers course owners a secure and controlled way to make videos available for students to watch offline. This feature allows students to download videos directly in the Panda Video app, ensuring the protection of your content from unauthorized access or sharing.

Why Use Secure Offline Video?

By enabling the Secure Offline Video option, your students can download the video in the Panda Video app and watch it safely. Downloaded videos are protected from exports and can only be played within the app.

Step-by-Step Guide to Activate Secure Offline Video

Access the Video Settings

In your course admin panel, go to the video list and select the video you wish to make available for offline download.

Enable the "Secure Offline Video" Option

In the video settings menu, find the "Secure Offline Video" section. Turn on the switch “Activate Secure Offline Video.” This will allow the video to be downloaded and viewed exclusively within the Panda Video app.

Set the Video Expiration

After enabling the feature, set how long the video will be available for the student after download (e.g., 30 days). This expiration helps control access and prevents the video from being accessible indefinitely.

Enable the Secure Download Button

When Secure Offline Video is activated, a download button will appear in the video player for students. They can click the button or scan the displayed QR Code to download the video securely.

Add an External Link (Optional)

If desired, you can add an external link to each video. This option allows you to redirect students to a specific page, such as your site’s member area. Enable the “Button for external link” in the video settings to use this feature.

Important Configuration Details

Class Title in the App: The video title displayed in the app will be the same as configured in your Panda Video dashboard. Make sure the titles are clear and correct, as this is how students will identify content in the app.

Content Security: Downloaded videos can only be played within the Panda Video app. It is not possible to export, share, or play the content outside the app, ensuring the protection of your material.

QR Code for Secure Access: Students must scan the QR Code displayed in the player to download the video within the app. This method ensures that only authenticated and authorized users can access offline content.

Content Expiration: The expiration date configuration controls access to the video. After the defined time, the student will need to scan the QR Code again to renew access.
